MAESP is proud to join with MASSP in offering this workshop for Aspiring Leaders. This workshop has been attended by hundreds of Maryland educators over the past three years. Evaluations offer positive reviews and recommendations!  The workshop will be held at the Matapeake Middle School in Queen Anne's County.

This workshop follows the Pre-Assessment Center activities and agenda that were held in previous years. Participants will explore ways of assessing and developing their administrative skills as they prepare for a promotion. Activities will be reflective, hands-on, and thought provoking and introduce participants to the various steps used in many district-based Assessment Centers.

Activities for the day will include: ·  Data analysis exercise · Instructional observation and creation of feedback · Measured group activity · Writing sample (with feedback) · Creation of your resume · Strategies/Tips for success · Personal interview (with feedback).   Wisdom, from people with over 80+ years of experience in interviewing and rating candidates for promotion, will be shared.  The goal is to provide aspiring leaders with experiences that are NOT always offered in local school district leadership development programs.

Registration and social networking begins at 7:30 AM with a continental breakfast provided.  The mornng session begins at 8:00 AM.  Lunch will also be provided on site.

The cost for this workshop is the same for both members and non-members - $100.00  This workshop is best suited for teacher leaders, teachers desiring to move into an administrative position.  Current Assistant Principals will benefit from the networking and tasks associated with data analysis, writing prompt, and practice interview skills as well as from the Administrators' Panel.
